The barbuta is a 15th century Italian development of the sallet. Barbutes do not have a visor so they have a large field of view. The face is protected by plates on the side of the helmet. There are barbutes with T or Y shaped visors. Due to the protection of the cheek flaps and the open visor, the barbute is a perfect helmet for 15th century reenactment and LARP. Barbutes were also often worn during medieval parades. The helmets are well suited to wear all day long.
We have many years of experience in selling helmets for LARP and reenactment. Our helmets are used in jousting, reenactment, living history and museum exhibitions. That is why Celtic WebMerchant is the knight shop for all your reenactment and LARP gear.
