Sustainability at Celtic WebMerchant and the Tribe

Sustainability at Celtic WebMerchant and the Tribe

At Celtic WebMerchant we think sustainability is extremely important because we care about nature, being outside more and living a slower life with loved ones. Nature is increasingly being sacrificed for self-enrichment and due to high pressure in society, there is less and less attention for a slower and more conscious life. We believe it is important to be aware of our impact on the world and take responsibility to reduce this impact. Especially now that people are increasingly realizing how important nature is to us as humanity.

As History Rebels we want to be able to tell our own story by using world building and historical inspiration. But we are also fully aware of our impact on the real world around us, which is why we offer our customers products that are sustainably produced and have a long lifespan. We believe that as History Rebels we can make our own story contribute to a more sustainable world.

How does Celtic WebMerchant contribute to sustainability and corporate responsibility?

Firstly, we try to pay attention to corporate responsibility with regard to personnel. If you work for us, we think it is important that there is enough time for personal development and that the workload is not too high. Everyone at Celtic works part-time and is given the freedom to do what they enjoy most within the company. It is also possible to contact confidential advisers without any barriers, even when it comes to the private situation. We also find cosiness in the workplace important. We hope no one here is reluctant to come to work.

Our company is inclusive and we have more women than men in management, and you can be who you want to be and wear what you want to work. We support LGBTQIA2S+ and polyamory. Celtic WebMerchant is based in the Netherlands, a country where freedom, equality and individuality are of paramount importance.

Naturally, we also strive for sustainability in terms of packaging and shipping. We reuse all packaging materials in which we receive our warehouse stock. For example, you may receive a box that contained our stock. The rest of our standard packaging materials are made from recycled material, the materials are recyclable and degradable and paper materials have an FSC quality mark. Celtic WebMerchant's waste is separated and recycled by HVC Sliedrecht.

Celtic WebMerchant also tries to make sustainable business decisions. For example, we do not do business air travel and if it is necessary to travel, we do this by train, boat or car. We have a modern bus with a good diesel filter to minimize emissions and there are also plans to replace it with an electric vehicle. The shipping companies we work with are also in the process of switching to electric driving.

Sustainability plans for the future

In the summer of 2023, Celtic WebMerchant will become even more sustainable. We are moving to a new building where the energy is generated with solar panels and where we heat with a heat pump. We do not use gas, even in our current building. The new building is also located at Sliedrecht train station so that customers and staff can reach us more easily by train. The new location is fully insulated and meets all modern sustainability requirements for office accommodation. In addition, we will be using a number of new machines, which will reduce the use of adhesive tape.

What can you do yourself to recycle our materials?

If you want to return something to us, please use the box or plastic bag in which the item was sent to you. This way you don't have to buy new materials. You can also keep our shipping packaging for when you want to send a package to someone. You can also separate your waste so that these materials can be recycled, such as paper from shipping boxes and plastic from filling material.

By working together, we hope to preserve a world with a lot of nature that we can pass on to our descendants, and to burden them with as few environmental problems as possible. As History Rebels, let's complete our story with this mission.
