For this composition we were inspired by paintings from the early Renaissance. We decorated a table with a beautiful still life and played out some domestic scenes between the lady of the house and her servant.

Dress
The dress is based on the medieval cotehardie. This garment was worn in the late 14th and early 15th centuries, particularly in Western Europe. It was a tight-fitting dress with a tight bodice and a flared skirt.

The underdress was an important part of historical clothing. In paintings and miniatures, an edge of a woman's undergarments can regularly be seen.

Good footwear is very important for servants, especially when they are often found outdoors.

Headscarf
In the Middle Ages, wearing headscarves was very common, especially by women from the lower classes and female servants. Headscarves served several purposes. For women from the lower classes wearing a headscarf was mainly functional. It provided protection from the elements, such as sun, wind and dust, while working in the fields or doing household chores. It also helped to keep the hair clean since regular washing was not as common as it is today. The headscarf therefore functioned as a kind of practical head covering.

Tasks
A servant could have different tasks. She could be responsible, among other things, for the lady’s personal care, such as helping to dress and undress, taking care of the hair and skin, and assisting with bathing.
