Get the Look: Barbarian, Path of Wild Magic

Herne was once an honorable hunter, whose life was changed by an encounter with a mysterious druid. The druid taught him the ancient art of wild magic, but an unfortunate event during an intense hunting ceremony caused a permanent bond with the unpredictable forces of chaos. Now Herne bears the brunt of wild magic, with his emotions and actions causing unintentional, unpredictable and sometimes dangerous magical outbursts. He roams the land, searching for ways to master the magic and find peace with his unbridled powers.

This Barbarian is inspired by the story of Herne the Hunter, a figure from English folklore. I loved seeing how this old myth could be almost seamlessly translated into a Dungeons & Dragons setting and I hope you too are inspired to create your own character based on this.

Axe

Herne is armed with a battle axe, with which he can live out his battle rage.

Cloak

Hernes clothing is designed for the outdoors. He can also use his long cloak to sleep in.

Tunic

Since deer and other prey animals do not perceive the color red well, it is no problem for a hunter to wear a red tunic.

Make sure you also choose a suitable undertunic for the Lodin tunic, because wool can itch. For example:

Chapron

Is it too hot at a festival for a cloak? With a chaperon you still get an impression of life outdoors.

Pair of trousers

These smooth pants are ideal for different characters. And it has pockets.

Belt

Herne’s belt has a number of rings, on which he can hang bags or hunting trophies.

He also carries a narrower belt with a set of knives.

Boots

This is one of the most important parts of this costume. With a good pair of boots, Herne can walk through the wilderness tirelessly. Unfortunately, the model we used for the photo is no longer available. But take a look at the following models:

Accessories

Shakespeare's version of Herne is a ghost with horns. With our set of 2 antlers you can make your own headband:

As a hunter, Herne can carry a hunting horn.

And you can equip it with a bow.
