Forced into a lifetime of servitude to Lolth, after many years of education at Arach-Tinilith to become a priestess, Micarraedrin Arabiryn resented her family. She had always been good with a sword, but society’s rules did not allow her to use her talents. Micarraedrin Arabiryn felt like she was wasting her life, so she decided to take matters into her own hands. She left the Underdark behind. It took some time, but eventually she further developed her fighting skills and learned to use her knowledge as a priestess in combat situations. Now, she’s one of the most feared fighters on the Surface, operating under the cover of darkness…
Chest armour
Fighters are regularly in harm’s way, which means they’re at a high risk of injury. That’s why armour is a very important part of a fighter’s gear. Drows might be able to escape injury easier than some other races, but they aren’t invincible. However, they can get away with wearing less or lighter armour.
This chest armour can be worn over clothing, but also just straight on the skin, depending on the look you’re going for.

Gorget
Of course, wearing only chest armour won’t give all that much protection. A gorget helps protect the chest and neck area, but is also needed to wear pauldrons. This particular gorget has an elegant shape, which is why it’s perfect for Drows or other Elvish characters.

Pauldrons
To complete Micarraedrin Arabiryn’s upper body armour, we’ve added pauldrons to her look. Pauldrons cover the shoulders, and combined with a gorget, will keep the area around the neck and shoulders safe from injury. These simple pauldrons work really nicely with the Mina gorget.

Skirt
Micarraedrin Arabiryn wears a long, blood red skirt. With her Elven elegance and agility, a skirt won’t be a hindrance. The red colour immediately sparks a feeling of danger in anyone who sees her.

Belt
A good, sturdy belt is always a great addition to a fighter look. Aside from simply being a nice accessory, a belt can help you add a lot of other things to your look. In this look, we’ve used the belt to add some lower body armour, but also as a place to hang some extra accessories. This really helps bring the character and her backstory alive.

Belt shields
When you don’t want to work with full body armour, but you do want to have some armour beside upper body armour, you can use belt shields. Belt shields protect the thighs, without covering the legs fully. This makes them a light and more comfortable option than full leg armour.

Sword
The one thing a fighter cannot go without is a weapon. Swords are always a popular option and there is a lot of variety amongst swords. You will always be able to find a sword that’ll work with the character you wish to portray. For Micarraedrin Arabiryn, we wanted something a bit more fantastical, but also frightening.

Shield
Because Micarraedrin Arabiryn doesn’t wear full body armour, she carries a shield for extra protection during fights. We wanted the shield to match the vibe of the sword, so we decided to use a shield with “metal” details and a threatening feel.

Trophies
Drows are generally known to be on the darker side of the dnd lore, sometimes even evil. To give a nod to this aspect of the race, Micarraedrin Arabiryn wears some trophies of slain opponents on her belt. A clear message to anyone who thinks about getting in her way…

One of the things that makes a drow recognisable, is their silver white hair. The easiest way to get such a hair colour is by wearing a wig.

Bodypaint
To get the blue skin colour right, we used two products. For the base, we used a bodyspray paint and for the face and finishing touches, water based make up. The paint can also be used to paint the ears.
