Product description
This bust is a replica of a bust of emperor Tiberius. The original is part of the collection of the archaeological museum of Napels. These statues were often painted to let them appear lifelike.
Tiberius Claudius Nero was the second princeps of Rome, as successor of Imperator Caesar Augustus. Despite of his splendid (military) career before he became princeps, he would go down in history as a gloomy and suspicious ruler. This is why he was called tristissimus hominum (the saddest person of all).
This bust is completely handmade of alabaster and its height is 14 cm. It is delivered including a black pedestal.
