The Roman parma was the shield used by Roman auxiliae, musicians and the signiferi. This oval shield is painted red in the colors of war god Mars. It is provided with a wooden handle behind the umbo. The shield is made of 1 cm thick multiplex, just like the original. It is covered with linen.
