Product description

This dress is based on a sixth-century archaeological excavation of clothing fragments in a women's grave near present-day Dortmund. Early medieval images in illuminated manuscripts from the eighth and ninth centuries offer a more complete picture of this type of clothing, such as the Stuttgart Psalterium. Particularly suitable for re-enacting and LARP of the Great Migrations, Merovingians and Franks. Manuscripts show that dresses from this period had contrasting colors and colored strips of fabric as decoration. This tunic is a reconstruction of this style.

This dress has three-quarter sleeves and can be worn with a belt. The dress has gores on the sides, that are triangular pieces of fabric that gave medieval garments a flare. The back has a button to close the dress.
