Product description

Horns like this were mainly used during the early Middle Ages. They were both used for hunting and warfare, for communication and intimidation. Signal horns were used by i.a. the Vikings, Anglons, Anglo-Saxons, Picts, Celts and Franks.

This signal horn is a replica of a 9th century Anglo-Saxon original excavated in England. This horn is provided with a brass mouth piece to make a loud signal. Its length is 50 to 55 cm. Tip: It can be hung around the shoulder with a leather strap.
