This sword is made after several originals from the early Renaissance. The primary goal of the sword was stabbing, but this model was also suited for slashing. Swords like this were made between 1350 and 1450 in the European conutries and a large number of originals has been preserved.
This sword is especially made for re-enactment purposes and is delivered battle-ready. The blade has a length of 86 cm and is made of carbon steel with a hardness of 50 HRC. Its width is approx. 4,8 cm and it is provided with 4 fullers to reduce the weight and give the sword more stability. The grip is made of hardwood and with a length of 15,5 cm it is also suitable to use with two hands. The sword has a total length of 109 cm and its point of balance is situated approx. 9 cm from the blade. It weighs approx. 1,3 kg.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.
