Removing transport grease
All our steel weapons and armour will be delivered in quite a thick layer of grease. This is to prevent the item from rusting while it’s in a warehouse or on its way for delivery. This layer is thicker than what’s needed for normal maintenance, so it’s important to remove it once you’ve received the item.
The transport grease can be removed by either using rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits. You should use a soft cloth to apply the product, so you don’t scratch the steel.
When all of the grease is removed, reapply a thin coat of oil, silicone spray or anti-rust spray to keep the steel protected.
