Product description

These ankle boots are based on originals that were worn between 1350 and 1440. Around this period, footwear was very expensive. As a result, footwear was constantly mended and re-used within families. Consequently, very few people were ever able during their lifetime to wear well fitting shoes. Especially after the second plague epidemia, shoes became expensive because there was a shortage of shoemakers.

This type of shoe was worn by all classes of society during the 14th and 15th century. They are very practical anke boots that provide an excellent support to the foot and the ankle. The shoes are provided with shoenails, perfect for smooth surfaces. Besides, the shoenails protect the soles from wear.

These shoes are made of 2 mm thick cowhide. The soles 4 to 5 mm thick.
