Product description

The Normans were direct descendants of the Vikings, who settled in northern France in the 10th century. They were not inferior to the Vikings in terms of fighting spirit, courage and military talent. It is not surprising that their swords bear the greatest resemblance to those of the Vikings, compared to other swords from the High Middle Ages. This replica is completely in the tradition of this particularly dynamic type of sword. Typologically the sword can clearly be classified as Oakshott Type X. The crossguard is Type No. 6 and the pommel characteristic of Norse swords is of Type A. The forged blade of EN45 spring steel is oil-hardened and tempered to approximately 48-50 HRC. It extends to the pommel and is riveted to the end of the grip. The wooden grip is wrapped in leather. The crossguard is forged from steel. The blood gutter has a clear full length, which gives the sword great resilience and lightness at the same time. The point and edges are blunt and rounded. The sword is made exclusively by hand. The sword is supplied without a scabbard.
