This house altar is a replica of a 1st century Roman orignal found in Pompeii. Often lararia were painted, just as their statues, as this originall was as well. Votive statues were often placed next to the altar.
This lararium is devoted to the goddess Venus.Venus, the Roman goddess of love, originally an old Italic goddess of vegetation, protector of the gardens and orchards, was later equated to the Greek Aphrodite.
This lararium is 9 cm wide and 16 cm high. It is made of terracotta.

2. Plastic cushions, clothing bags and plastic tape: separate or reuse your plastic. If possible, pierce the cushions with a volume reduction needle.
3. Paper packaging for jewelry and small items: these have a plastic inner layer. Remove these, then separate your paper and plastic.
