Product description

This detailed replica of a medieval ring is made after a historic original that once belonged to the daughter of Anglo-Saxon King Aethelwulf of Wessex. It dates from the Viking age of 853-874. The Aethelswith ring was designed in the so-called Trewhiddle style, typical of Anglo-Saxon art in the 9th century. The original ring was originally made of gold with niello inlay. The ring is now in the British Museum in London. The ring can be adjusted in size.
