Product description
This surcoat by the brand Marshal Historical is decorated with the cross of the Knights Templar order. The medieval surcoat served several purposes. With the surcoat knights could identify themselves, they could show to which knighthood they belonged. The surcoat protected the steel armor and chainmail from the hot sun in the Holy Land. Surcoats could also protect the knights from enemies. There is a story of a knight who was shot by arrows. The surcoat slowed the arrows so that they hit less hard. This Marshal Historical surcoat has a split, so you can also wear it while riding. It is made of raw cotton and looks just like historical linen. A perfect surcoat for medieval reenactment, Templar costumes and LARP.
