The two-handed sword has been used since the fourteenth century in medieval Europe. Between 1350 and 1550 it was a weapon of war for fully armored soldiers. From the sixteenth century onwards the weapon remained in use for sportive fights and chivalrous duels. The two-hander was suitable to fight with two hands for extra strength.
This hand-and-a-half sword is a replica of an Oakeshott type XIIIa. This is one of the earliest types and they were used in the fourteenth century. The grip was suitable for one and a half hands and two hands. They were primarily intended for cutting.
This sword is made of carbon steel and has a grip wrapped in black leather. It has a rounded point and a battle-ready edge (2.5 - 3 mm thickness), making it suitable for training and sword fighting.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.

3. Paper packaging for jewelry and small items: these have a plastic inner layer. Remove these, then separate your paper and plastic.
