Shin guards like these were worn by Germanic warriors from the Vendel period and were seen into the Viking age. An original was found in a ship burial of a Germanic king near the holy city of Uppsala. This replica is based on Valsgärde ship burial 8. These shin guards are ideal for early medieval reenactment.
