This piece of jewelry is made after one of the most commonly used symbols from the era of the Great Migrations. The raven is one of the ravens of Odin / Wodan. This motif was widely used by the Germanic tribes like the Goths, Franks and Anglo-Saxons. This piece of jewelry is based on an original from the Vendel period found in Gotland, Sweden. This motif was also widely used by the Vikings.
