Product description

Whether used for felling trees, building ships, houses and furniture, or for use in battle, the ax was an indispensable and versatile tool for the Vikings. The shape and size of the ax heads depended on their intended use. There were also artfully decorated axes that served as a status symbol for their bearer and were often included as grave goods. The shape of the head of the Viking ax offered here corresponds to the Petersen type D. The blade of this bearded ax is made of carbon steel and forged by hand. The handle of the ax is made of sturdy ash wood. This ax is ideal for your Viking costume or for reenactment.
